Mental health is considered one of the most fundamental human needs, and a successful marriage, as a social–emotional institution, plays a decisive role in shaping the psychological security of individuals and families. The family, as the cornerstone of society, provides a foundation for peace and psychological stability and protects individuals against mental pressures and disorders. Marriage is not only an emotional bond between two people but also, by fostering a sense of security, creates a context for personal growth and psychological maturity. Within such a bond, couples complement each other and establish healthy relationships, thereby reducing the likelihood of depression and other psychological disorders while contributing to the enhancement of mental health.
This study, conducted with a descriptive–analytical approach, examines the concepts of marriage, family, and psychological security, and demonstrates that a successful marriage not only promotes individual mental health but also produces positive outcomes at the societal level. The findings indicate that a successful marriage can lead to reduced stress, strengthened self-confidence, decreased feelings of loneliness, preservation of sexual chastity, and the expansion of friendship, affection, and love.
