This article aims to examine the role of war in the empowerment of women in Afghanistan, focusing on how gender roles have changed and the new opportunities that have emerged for women's empowerment. The research not only reflects specific theoretical foundations related to gender and feminism but also identifies and analyzes how Afghan women have been empowered in wartime conditions. This study employs a descriptive-analytical method, utilizing library research to investigate and explore this issue. The findings, grounded in a feminist approach and concepts such as gender, indicate that war, despite its destructive effects, has led to the empowerment of women through changes in gender roles and responsibilities, assuming family leadership, shifts in women's attitudes, and social maturation. In fact, with the decrease in men's presence and the increase in women's participation in public spaces, power structures have transformed, and this lived experience has resulted in meaningful agency for women in making choices, which is considered an indicator of empowerment. The final conclusion of this research shows that in Afghanistan, the family is regarded as the primary unit of social and political structure, and changes in gender relations, though gradual, can be accelerated by events such as war. Despite existing challenges and limitations, Afghan women have been able to experience new roles during the war and achieve personal and social empowerment.
