abstract:
Given the pivotal role of women in preserving the family structure, women's employment has consistently been perceived as a threat to the institution of the family by its opponents. Psychological and physical pressures resulting from role conflicts, the perceived disruption caused by women's presence in society, and the physical and biological characteristics of women are among the primary reasons cited by opponents. However, the passage of time and societal, cultural, and economic transformations have led to changes in the family institution and traditional roles of women and men. The economic state of current societies demands women's participation in livelihood, while the availability of educational opportunities has propelled women toward presence and employment in society. On the other hand, the various mental and physical capabilities of women hinder the acceptance of biological reasons.
Therefore, we require a model that preserves the family institution while being compatible with women's interests, capabilities, and the current social and cultural conditions. This model, by acknowledging women's right to employment, minimizes the pressures resulting from women's role conflicts in the family and society through empathy and cooperation among family members. It also devises flexible and diverse programs by policy-making institutions and enhances women's knowledge, attitudes, and skills, thereby increasing their capacity to manage challenges related to their maternal, spousal, and occupational duties. It creates a platform for utilizing women's potential and capabilities towards the development and progress of society
